Remote Work Solutions
This panel will address those issues and offer both legal and practical solutions and best practices for employers in their quest to retain talent post-pandemic without compromising future business imperatives brought on by potential industry downturns. Anne O’Donoghue will be providing insight as to how Australia has implemented remote work, for employers, employees and visa holders alike.
Modern Slavery – Punishing victims and why this must stop
The panel will look at how the principle is applied across different jurisdictions and will discuss recommendations to improve the legislative provision and practical implementation. It will also reference a pilot program to train lawyers and law enforcement personnel on the principle of non-punishment and ancillary matters and the creation of a dedicated online platform on the IBA/BIICL websites which will contain which will host videos, podcasts and web links to interviews with experts and practitioners from NGOs, international organisations and multi-stakeholder initiatives accessible to the public, as well as to legal professionals. Anne O’Donoghue will be apart of this open-dialogue session, on how the principle of non-punishment is defined in the Australian Legal System.
Where is my Profit Share?
This panel will see a variety of perspectives and themes discussed with respect to the Nagoya Protocol. Anne O’Donoghue will be speaking on the protection of traditional knowledge and benefit-sharing from the perspective of megabiodiverse countries: experiences and perspectives, in light of Australia’s efforts.
