The demand for parent visas in Australia has been on the rise in recent years, however, the limited number of places available each year means that processing times for these visas can be lengthy.
It is estimated that new Contributory Parent visa will take approximately 12 years to be processed, while new Parent and Aged Parent visa applications are likely to take at least 29 years to be processed.
As of 28 February 2023, the department has released the following applications for final processing:
- Contributory Parent visa applications with a queue date up to March 2017
- Parent visa applications with a queue date up to October 2011
- Aged Parent visa applications with a queue date up to December 2012
